Thank you for your communication of the 2nd July concerning the shared drain / sewer at the above address. I enclose development plans marked up with the existing drain position and the proposed alteration and I would advise as follows.
1. I am proposing to put a new manhole on the existing drain picking up the existing S&VP on the front of the house into manhole 1.
2. I am also proposing to put a new manhole onto the existing drain as it gets to the garden wall.
3. I am then proposing to connect the two new manholes with a further section of drain and a manhole so that the drain / sewer is kept well away from the building without getting unnecessarily close to the trees on the highway.
4. It should then also be possible to pick up the proposed channel in front of the garage door into manhole 3. This should be possible as we know that the drain is going down quite steeply and is below the floor level of the garage.
Please advise if this is ok and I will revise the drawings accordingly.
