Hi Stephen
Just to keep you up to speed with the above job
I have been on site today and the whole of the extension works other than the steel goal post has been removed
The roof has been striped and currently has felt and battens only
No sure if you have been on site since our last meeting with the client but all our worst fears were realised when the work was removed from site
I have agreed that the existing foundations can be increased in thickness with the provision of dowel bars in to the top resin fixed into the concrete and a layer of A252 Mesh over the whole of the foundation
The foundations to the goal post arrangement have been recast and look much better
One had been cast over the manhole as thought
Beyond belief what the last contractor did
New contractors on site Phoenix seem better and are cooperating with us
I will keep you informed of progress and trust the same from yourselves
Have a good holiday
We finish at 1200 tomorrow back on the 6th January
Kind regards
James
Kind Regards
James

Agent and structural engineer in agreement that works on site in no way demonstrate compliancecwith building regulations in any way
Obviously the works are not fit for purpose and legal action has commenced from the client to the builder
Following additional works noted on site
Mortar sample angle is recd done by client sample fails tovacjievecany classification so serious fail
Wall ties not frewuentvenough in the cavity wall construction
Hard-core to dub floor dips chalk poor quality and has started to turn to mush under foot due to prolonged exposure to elements
The steel coloum have been provided with inadequate foundations one cast on top of the existing msn hole on ditevexposed by clients father structurally inadequate as confirmed by engineer on site
All points noted on previous inspection agreed as valid issues by all concerned
Loft conversion steel frame not oprprn for inspection when seen weld not suitable
Unable to feryfi or otherwise the presence if the required ridge beam
Insulation jbsdequatw to walls and roof of the loft
Hesdroomninadequste to thevstsircase
