I have a query about my extension roof at 42 North street.
"theplanman" in his design states that I need 225x75mm joists at 400m centres, this seems massively over kill to me.
From my research I've worked out that 195x47mm single piece end supported rafters of grade C24 timber at 600mm centres will work with the upper wall plate from the same materials. the free span is 4070mm and snow loading not more than 0.75. (that joist and spacing can go to 4364mm so well under. there will be 2 velux style windows between the rafters with no main rafters being cut in to. will this pass?
The builder is booked for week commencing 14 sept so a site visit on 17/18th Sept to inspect the framework if possible would be great, before the roof goes on. can you fit that in?
I also spoke to you about my upstairs bathroom, that now finished, are you able to check this please? I think you said it was only a pressure test of the waste pipe.
I will also call to enquire about this, as per your secretaries request many months ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
