Hi

The structural engineer will want to visit site to asserting the following prior to the design of the foundation

The load to be imposed from the proposed structure this will be available from the manufacturer

The plasticity of the sub soil this is how much water the soil retains this can be achieved either by a lab test on the soil sample or assuming that the shrink ability is high

The type and proximity of any and all trees adjacent to the proposed foundation

This will give an indication of the water demand of the trees in question and the possibility of expansion or contraction of the substrate

You may wish to forward this to your engineer but the above is a very standard procedure undertaken by the engineer to arrive at an acceptable foundation design

Spoke to site agent for the development need to sitecsonunabke to confirm or otherwise if piles foundations but did say some on the site were pulled by another developer

spoke to client re need for trial hole approx 1000mm deep to determin proposed foundation type and depth

NOTE TREES ON THIS SITE ALTHOUGH CLIENT SAID NO TREES

Client to excavate the trial hole and we will call on site

client quite stroppy as he says only a sectionla garage explained that if building regulations apply we nust have the correct foundation as we are accountabkle for the structure jab
