Good afternoon
I did receive an email from Leeds City Council on 06/10/20 regarding the need or otherwise for Town Planning approval for the proposed works
As we were providing the Building Control Services for the works in question a reply was made to LCC and your agent for the works Mr Tony Eyles to resolve the matter
As your building control provider, we are not involved with the need or otherwise to obtain town planning approval for any works and this is made clear on our letter to yourself as the client
Can I suggest that you contact Tony Eyles who prepared your drawings in relation to this the works who will advise you on this
The local authority despite having been informed of the above are still confusing my role as building inspector with that of your agent/plan drawer
I think the Local Authority are once again confusing our role as building control provider with that of your agent/plan drawer
Kind Regards

Dear Sir
We have just had an unannounced visit from an enforcement officer from Leeds City Council. He explained that someone had questioned the volume of the dormer and that he had been emailing you for details i.e. photos to verify the build

I am at a loss as to why you did not communicate this request to us and why you did not warn us that such a visit may take place. He says that he had been emailing for sometime with no joy.
It was an unexpected visit and so we wanted to verify who this was which involved a number of phone calls and some distress.
The enforcement officer said he had communicated with you and asked you to forward this to us.
I’d be grateful if you could please forward the email as requested and clarify why you did not notify us as requested or support us with this matter.
Yours sincerely
Nina Lawrence

HI James
You have sent us a letter asking for a cheque for the building inspections coming up to the sum of £600 including VAT. However, we do not have a cheque book to send you a cheque. Could you please send us your bank details to transfer the money into.
This is for property 17 Green Lane, LS167LW and the builder is AKB Loft Conversations. Work starts on the 10th Aug.
Look forward to receiving the details.
Many thanks

Subject: 17 Green Lane Planning Enforcement Case: 20/00941/UHD3
Dear Mr. Bourke,
I write in relation to Planning Enforcement case 20/00941/UHD3 at 17 Green Lane.
You may recall acting as an agent on behalf of Mr. J Lawrence for Building Control Notification 20/03040/IN at the above address for ‘room in roof space with rear dormer’. I am writing to you today as the Council has received a report of an unauthorised dormer being constructed at the rear of the above-mentioned property. Whilst it is likely that the rear dormer has been constructed so as to qualify as permitted development under Schedule 2, Part 1, Class B of The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended), we must still carry out the necessary checks to ensure that this is the case.
Please may you forward any plans that were drawn up for the rear dormer and any other evidence to show that it does qualify as permitted development within 5 days of the date of this email, thank you.
I trust that the above has been clear. If you have any queries in relation to this matter then please contact me.
Regards,
Thomas Symons
