Dear Mr Bourke
Please find attached photos and floor plans of the upstairs landing and the kitchen day room at 13 Clementhorpe Lane, Gilberdyke.
We are trying to prepare for your visit to sign off the building works we have had completed at the property.
We are emailing for advice around heat / smoke detectors please. The photo of the upstairs landing is taken from the top of the stairs where there currently is a battery smoke alarm, this will be changed for a hard wired device.
Can you please advise if an additional alarm in the central landing (area where the sideboard can be seen) is sufficient to meet regulations or will this additional device have to be fitted on the other side of the bulk head in the very small landing area, where the extension begins. As you can see from a further photo this area is mainly taken up by a loft hatch.
With regards to the kitchen, day room area, within this area there is a log burner, double ovens and a hob. Can you please also advice what is required for this area for heat / smoke alarms? Please see attached plan for proposed device fitting.
