Thanks for your email
Having had a chat with Chris this morning I feel that we need to attend site again to complete the inspection of the works as outlined on site
In addition to the items within your email Chris also requested a that a copy of the Energy Performance Certificate commonly called the EPC was also made available
Please can you arrange for the EPC to be forwarded ASAP
Having had a chance to look at the ladder arrangement to the escape window in the first floor bedroom I find the ladder solution to the height above finished floor level not acceptable
A more suitable approach would be to provide a platform fixed in position although this would prove restrictive on the use of the room
Alternatively the store should be provided with half hour fire door and smoke detectors within both the store and the bedroom are linked into the mains detection system
This would give access in the event of a fire to a suitable escape window within the store room
Likewise if a fire was detected within the store the half hour door would keep the fire within the store allowing a reasonable period of time to escape down the main staircase
Please arrange for the above to be addressed and we will reinspect the works

Good Afternoon James
We have just had Chris round and he has told us that we need to do a few things for safety , we cannot finish the house completely until we have received the VAT back.
Chris has said that we need to do the following before we can get it signed off please can you confirm this is alright and that if we email you photographs that will be satisfactory? Or would you need to come back for another visit?
1. Front Door Step to be made safe with more blocks
2. Front Windows to be pointed
3. Fire Door Closer to be fitted
4. Smoke Alarm in the back loft space above the kitchen
5. Under stairs to be boarded
We go on holiday tomorrow for two weeks but will still pick up emails, if you could let us know as soon as possible that would be great.
